New Release: ARD-0626-01 Micro Power-Off Holding Electromagnet
We are adding the second model to our power-off holding electromagnet family. The ARD-0626-01 uses the same proven electrical platform as the ARD-0520NL-01 — DC12V, 6 W, 25% duty cycle — and puts it in the larger 06-series body, so project teams can choose the mechanical envelope that fits their mechanism without redesigning the drive electronics.
Why One Platform, Two Bodies Matters
For a customer running several products, the expensive part of adopting a new actuator is rarely the part itself. It is the qualification work around it: driver design, firmware timing, thermal validation, and the compliance file. Keeping the electrical specification identical across two mechanical sizes means one qualification covers both:
- One driver design — DC12V switching stage, 0.1 s ON / 0.3 s OFF, no change between models
- One firmware timing profile — pulse width and interval validated once, reused across product lines
- One compliance package — the same material and RoHS 2.0 / REACH SVHC documentation applies to both
- Supply flexibility — your production line can switch body size without a new part qualification cycle
The 06-series body suits mechanisms where the larger housing is easier to mount, easier to seat in a die-cast or moulded cavity, or simply gives more room for wiring and tolerance in assembly. Where space is tighter, the 0520 model remains the reference.

How the Mechanism Benefits
The holding force is specified in the condition that actually matters — de-energized at 0 mm gap, ≥ 50 g. That is the spring-held state your product sits in for most of its life, so standby current is zero and the mechanism cannot fall open on power loss. Drive it with a DC12V pulse and the armature moves out to a defined 3.8 mm stroke with ≥ 50 g thrust, which is enough to trip a latch, open a valve pilot or release a shutter detent.
At a 25% duty cycle the average dissipation is roughly 1.5 W, so heat inside a sealed housing stays controlled. If your application needs a longer energised period, bring us the duty pattern before you freeze the design — we would rather specify the coil and thermal path for it than have you run outside the rated condition.
Verification and Reliability
Insulation resistance is measured at DC500V between coil and bobbin, dielectric strength is proven at AC700V for one second with leakage limited to 1 mA, and appearance is inspected for damage, cracking, rust and surface staining before packing. Life is qualified at more than 100,000 mechanical cycles, and the -40 °C to +85 °C range covers cold outdoor installations as well as the inside of a warm enclosure.
Typical Applications
- Smart locks, cabinet and locker latches — zero standby current, fail-secure by design
- Valve and damper pilots — defined stroke and thrust for repeatable actuation
- Dosing, dispensing and vending mechanisms — short pulse, long cycle count, low heat
- Instrument and optical shutters — compact release action under command only
Availability and Next Steps
The ARD-0626-01 is available for sampling and volume production now, alongside the ARD-0520NL-01. Custom voltages, coil resistances, stroke and force levels can be developed on the same platform, and we can integrate the electromagnet with our stepper motor designs to deliver a single tested subassembly.
Tell us your mounting space and actuation requirement — we will recommend the right body size, send samples and provide the test data with your quotation.
